ยาง XIIR เป็นยางสังเคราะห์ชนิดหนึ่งซึ่งได้จากการทำปฏิกิริยาฮาโลจิเนชัน (Halogenation) ของยาง IIR กับก๊าซคลอรีน (Cl 2) หรือก๊าซโบรมีน (Br 2) ได้เป็นยางคลอโรบิวไทล์ (CIIR) หรือยางโบรโมบิวไทล์ (BIIR) ตามลำดับ ยางฮาโลบิวไทล์นี้มีปริมาณฮาโลเจนอยู่น้อยมากจึงไม่จัดอยู่ในพวกยางที่มี ขั้ว แต่ยางชนิดนี้คงรูปได้เร็ว มีระดับการคงรูปสูง และมีความต้านทานต่อการเกิด reversion ในระหว่างการคงรูปได้ดี ดังนั้นยางฮาโลบิวไทล์จึงสามารถใช้ผสมกับยางที่ไม่อิ่มตัวชนิดอื่นๆ เช่น ยางธรรมชาติได้ดีและยังสามารถเกิดการคงรูปร่วมกับยางที่ไม่อิ่มตัวชนิดอื่นๆ ได้ สมบัติของยางชนิดนี้โดยทั่วไปดีกว่ายาง IIR เล็กน้อย คือ มีอัตราการซึมผ่านของก๊าซต่ำกว่า มีความทนทานต่อโอโซน ความร้อน สภาพอากาศ และสารเคมีต่างๆ ได้ดีกว่า แต่มี hysteresis สูงกว่า การใช้งานนิยมใช้ผลิตยางโอริงหรือปะเก็นยางชนิดที่ต้องทนต่อสารเคมี ท่อไอน้ำ ยางบุด้านในของยางล้อแบบไม่มียางใน สายพาน ยางบุต่างๆ และจุกปิดขวดยา เป็นต้น [เทคโนโลยียาง]
