One day : at some time in the future

นอกจากจะแปลว่า “หนึ่งวัน” แล้ว ยังหมายถึง “สักวันหนึ่ง” เช่น

“I’d like to take a cruise to the North Pole one day.” 
ฉันอยากล่องเรือไปขั้วโลกเหนือสักครั้งหนึ่งในชีวิต

One day ยังหมายถึง “อยู่มาวันหนึ่ง…” ในเรื่องเล่าหรือนิทานต่างๆ ได้อีกด้วย เช่น

“One day, Little Red Riding Hood found herself missing her grandmother.”

"อยู่มาวันหนึ่ง หนูน้อยหมวกแดงก็เกิดรู้สึกคิดถึงคุณยายของเธอขึ้นมา..."
