วัลคาไนเซชัน คือ กระบวนการทางเคมีที่ก่อให้เกิดการเชื่อมโยงระหว่างโมเลกุลของยาง เกิดเป็นโครงสร้างตาข่ายสามมิติ (โครงสร้างร่างแห) ทำให้ยางคงรูปและมีความยืดหยุ่นสูงขึ้น ซึ่งกระบวนการนี้เป็นกระบวนการที่ไม่สามารถผันกลับได้ (irreversible process) ดังนั้น จึงเป็นสาเหตุทำให้ยางไม่สามารถนำกลับมารีไซเคิลได้ [เทคโนโลยียาง]
