trichomane

n. [ L., a kind of plant, from Gr. &unr_;. ] (Bot.) Any fern of the genus Trichomanes. The fronds are very delicate and often translucent, and the sporangia are borne on threadlike receptacles rising from the middle of cup-shaped marginal involucres.
