palpus

‖n.; pl. Palpi [ NL. See Palp. ] (Zool.) A feeler; especially, one of the jointed sense organs attached to the mouth organs of insects, arachnids, crustaceans, and annelids; as, the mandibular palpi, maxillary palpi, and labial palpi.
