มาตรการเข้มข้น หมายถึง มาตรการพิเศษที่กำหนดโดยที่ประชุมสุดยอดอาเซียน ครั้งที่ 6 เมื่อเดือนธันวาคม 2541 เพื่อส่งเสริมการค้าและการเร่งรัดลงทุนจากต่างประเทศในอาเซียน ในอันที่จะช่วยประเทศในภูมิภาคฟื้นฟูเศรษฐกิจจากวิกฤตการณ์ทางเศรษฐกิจ [การทูต]
มาตรการสร้างความไว้เนื้อเชื่อใจ เป็นมาตรการเพื่อสร้างความไว้เนื้อเชื่อใจระหว่างรัฐ/เจ้าหน้าที่ของรัฐ ทั้งด้านการเมือง ความมั่นคง และการทหาร เพื่อลดความหวาดระแวง ลดความขัดแย้ง และสร้างความมั่นใจระหว่างสองฝ่ายหรือหลาย ๆ ฝ่าย อันจะเป็นการส่งเสริมการทูตเชิงป้องกัน ทั้งนี้ CBMs เป็นกระบวนการที่สำคัญในกรอบการประชุม ARF [การทูต]
