(Zool.) (a) The ringed dotterel. (b) Any one of several small American plovers having a dark ring around the neck, as the semipalmated plover ({Aegialitis semipalmata}). {Ring snake} (Zool.), a small harmless American snake ({Diadophis punctatus}) having a white ring around the neck.
