Search tips
- You can input the search time in Thai, English, German, and Japanese.
- You can use '*' for wild-card-match, e.g, 'cat*' means
ALL ENTRIES that begin with cat. '*cat*' means
ALL ENTRIES that have 'cat' inside.
- Service explanation:
- Auto-select: Longdo will gutomatically guess the service you want to use from your input (i.e., check if it is a word or a URL, if word then
the dictionary service is selected, if URL then PopThai will be selected.
- Dictionary: basic word look up service from various dictionaries
- PopThai: attach a pop-up window showing word meaning to the given text or the web contents of the given URL, the pop-up window will be shown when you move a mouse over a word
- Vocabulary: show a list of vocabularies found in the given text or web URL and their meanings
- Pronunciation: show the pronunciation information of each word in the given text or web URL above each word (only IE browser supports this "Ruby" extension)
- For Japanese words, you can input both in Kanji, Hiragana, or even romaji. Try input
'oishii' or
'doraemon'.
- For German words, if you can't input umlaut-characters or esset, you can enter
ae, oe, ue, and ss instead. Try Strasse, Muenchen.
